Rashawn Grissom Meekins is an Assistant Principal in Winston-Salem, NC. Meekins was first introduced to the CDF Freedom Schools® program in 2017, where she served as a site coordinator at Kimberley Park Elementary Freedom School. She later became the Project Director and now serves as a third-year Ella Baker trainer. Meekins holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Winston-Salem State University, a master’s degree in Teaching from Salem College, and a post-master’s certificate in School Administration from NC A&T State University. Meekins has been an educator for more than 11 years and is licensed in Birth–Kindergarten, Special Education, and Elementary Education. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and is a servant leader at heart. Meekins believes that all students can learn; it is up to educators to discover how students learn and to meet them where they are.
