Aria Gilliam is a graduate of Hamline University with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and education. Throughout Gilliam’s five years of service with the Children’s Defense Fund, they have served as an SLI, assistant site coordinator, and a site testing manager. While much of Gilliam’s service has taken place in Minneapolis, Gilliam takes pride in having begun their first summer of service with the KAYSC STEM CDF Freedom Schools® site in the Rondo Community. Gilliam currently serves as a Housing Access Coordinator for The Arc Minnesota and hopes the skills they’ve acquired throughout their service with the CDF Freedom Schools program will expand and deepen the social services work that they’re doing in Saint Paul, MN.
