CDF-Ohio Welcomes Summer 2022 Intern Daisha Williams!
June 2, 2022
This summer, we are pleased to introduce Daisha Williams to the CDF-Ohio team. Daisha will be working with the policy team in our work supporting education equity and elevating youth voice. Here’s a little bit more about Daisha and her interests in education and making a difference for children.
Hometown: Dayton, Ohio
University: University of Dayton (Go Flyers!)
Major: Adolescent to Young Adult Social Studies Education with a minor in Political Science
Extra-curriculars: President of Women Of Remarkable Distinction, Community Service Chair for Black Action Through Unity, & Secretary for House of UD
What inspires me to serve: Despite coming from an underserved background in inner-city Dayton, I have made great strides in reaching success in my own form. I aim to fight against systems that create an underserved and inequitable environment for future generations so that children can soar even farther than what I have.
What is the change I want to see in the world: I want to see a world where children are truly put first, not for political gain, not for profit, capitalism, or to keep the population growing, but because they truly deserve to be a priority in the world’s eyes.
In five years, I see myself: Having two degrees under my belt, possibly pursuing a doctorate in Education Administration, and teaching American History to urban students with my own nonprofit aimed to give back to students and teachers.
