On this King Day, we must ask ourselves if we are truly willing to honor the legacy of Dr. King by taking the necessary risks to ensure that there is a tomorrow for our young people.
The longer we go without incorporating racial and ethnic analysis into our legislative and rulemaking processes, the longer we will continue to pass laws that disparately harm New Yorkers of color – both in the immediate future and for generations to come.

The historic investment in clean energy is a pledge to our children’s future, reducing prescription costs and helping families cover health care premiums will help ensure parents do not have to choose between their health and supporting their families, and the billions generated from a new minimum tax on large corporations could one day go toward economic and social benefits for children, youth, and families.
Flexible cash is what families tell us they need to be able to create a nurturing, stable platform from which they and their children can successfully launch. The additional, flexible resources that come from tax credits would help families achieve economic stability and help children to have what they need to thrive.
