Raquel Derfler is Campaign Coordinator for Cancel the Contract. Cancel the Contract is a Social Justice Coalition that advocates for victims of unconstitutional policing by providing wellness, criminal justice, and educational justice resources. Cancel the Contract works to halt the school-to-prison pipeline by working towards the cancellation of the $2.1 million contract between the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the Antelope Valley Union High School District (AVUHSD). Cancel the Contract has successfully sued AVUHSD for its discrimination in discipline against its Black students and students with disabilities.
