Khrisma McMurray is a community-driven visionary, strategic storyteller, and your new favorite children’s book author. She is committed to providing, promoting, and preserving liberatory literature for minority youth. Khrisma joined the CDF Freedom Schools® family in 2018 and has been a part of the movement ever since, holding roles as a Servant Leader Intern, Site Testing Manager, Site Coordinator, and Ella Baker Trainer. She has also worked for the Library of Congress in their Young Readers Center and Literacy Initiatives Office. In addition, Khrisma writes relationship-focused children’s books for youth in nontraditional family structures that jumpstart difficult conversations surrounding the intense emotions and experiences they encounter daily.
