Keely Norris, Director of Training Initiatives, CDF Freedom SchoolsⓇ program
Keely Norris is a proud educator with degrees in Special Education (B.S.) and Curriculum and Instruction (M.S.) from Florida State University and Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (Ed.S.) from Virginia Tech. She taught middle school Special Education for three years in Tallahassee, Florida, and co-founded and operated CDF Freedom Schools sites in North Florida. Norris moved to the Washington, D.C. area in 2018, taught middle school, and served as a Special Education Instructional Coach with Fairfax County Public Schools at Glasgow Middle School. In the fall of 2021, she began a new venture as the assistant director of student activities and Special Education teacher with Annandale High School. In March of 2022, Norris became the full-time director of training initiatives at CDF Freedom Schools. She credits CDF Freedom Schools as one of the biggest influences and professional development opportunities in her teaching career. Norris has served as a project director, executive director, and is a proud Ella Baker Trainer alumna.
