2025 National Observance of Children’s Sabbaths®

October 19, 2025 12:00 am

Theme: Building Beloved Community

Join places of worship, faith-based organizations, and child advocates across the country for the 2025 National Observance of Children’s Sabbaths®, an annual celebration that brings together people of every faith to raise a moral voice for justice and hope for children.

Together, we commit to building a nation where every child can thrive in joy, safety, and community.

What is Children’s Sabbaths?

Children’s Sabbaths is a multi-faith weekend of worship, education, and action. It equips faith communities to:

  • Celebrate and affirm the sacred worth of children and youth
  • Raise awareness of the challenges children face, especially those harmed by poverty, violence, and systemic injustice
  • Call members to take action that builds justice, equity, and joy for all children

How to Participate

Commit to Planning a Worship Service or Faith Event

Commit to organizing and hosting a special service, youth gathering, or educational forum. Use the theme, “Building Beloved Community,” to uplift children’s voices and inspire your community to act.

Why It Matters

In a time of uncertainty and division, children need communities of faith to be places of hope, belonging, and bold action. By participating in Children’s Sabbaths, you stand with others across the nation to say:

  • Every child is sacred
  • Justice is possible
  • Faith calls us to act
