Texas Community Health Outreach
All Texas children should have access to the health coverage and care, regardless of income, zip code, place of birth or immigration status. But for years, Texas has had the highest rate of uninsured children in the nation.
We know it’s not enough to tackle this issue with policy alone. That’s why our community health outreach teams meet families where they are, educate them about children’s health programs, and ensure they have the support they need at every stage of the process to get and keep health coverage for their children. We work to change these staggering numbers by ensuring every eligible child is enrolled in health coverage that guarantees all necessary services, is affordable and is easy to get and to keep.
What We Do
Our health outreach and enrollment teams connect children to programs like CHIP, Children’s Medicaid, SNAP, and more so they can benefit from comprehensive health care as early in their lives as possible.
We work on the ground with families, communities, and local partners in the Rio Grande Valley and East Texas.
