CDF-CA Freedom Schools®
Children’s Defense Fund-California (CDF-CA) organized with Freedom Schools partners across the state to take a stand against gun violence during a momentous National Day of Social Action event in Sacramento. The event convened several community leaders, child advocates, and hundreds of Freedom Schools scholars for two days of celebration, public testimony, and collaborative learning.
Multiple state dignitaries including California State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond, and Mayor of Sacramento Darrell Steinberg joined the event to support our Freedom Schools’ efforts to raise awareness and mobilize action on the life-and-death matter of gun violence in California.
