David Doyle Joins Children’s Defense Fund-Ohio State Advisory Board and Morghan Hyatt Joins Policy Team

COLUMBUS – 2021 marks the 40th anniversary of Children’s Defense Fund-Ohio, and in this New Year, we are gearing up for critical work on behalf of Ohio’s children. We are proud to announce the addition of a new staff member and a new board member to the CDF-Ohio team.

Children’s Defense Fund-Ohio is proud to announce the addition of David Doyle to its State Advisory Board. David Doyle is a Principal in the Government and Public Service practice with Deloitte Consulting, LLP in Columbus, Ohio where he also lives with his family. A graduate of Miami University, David brings his broad experience from founding a start-up company oversees to working as a Communications intern in the White House. CDF-Ohio is thrilled to have Mr. Doyle to provide strategic guidance to our organization.

Children’s Defense Fund-Ohio (CDF-Ohio) is also excited to announce that Morghan Hyatt has joined its policy team as a data/policy associate. CDF-Ohio has been a leader in advocating for policies and evidence-based practices that promote healthy childhood since its establishment in Ohio in 1981.

Morghan Hyatt is a recent graduate of Duquesne University where she majored in biochemistry and mathematics. While at Duquesne, Ms. Hyatt was a Division I Track & Field athlete, received academic honors, and a member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority. To deepen her understanding in areas she’s passionate about, Morghan volunteered with the March of Dimes and conducted research on infant mortality and other related issues. In her role with CDF-Ohio, she will draw on her research to support the organization’s work with Annie E. Casey Foundation’s KIDS COUNT project and to deepen CDF’s focus on data analytics and research.

“2021 marks the 40th year of Children’s Defense Fund-Ohio advocating on behalf of Ohio’s most vulnerable children in the Buckeye State,” said Tracy Najera, executive director of CDF-Ohio. “We are proud of our track record and are energized to make positive change in Ohio and ensure that our state is one where every child – regardless of race, ethnicity, or zip code – is safe, cared for, nourished, has access to a quality education, good healthcare, and can thrive and flourish into adulthood.”

“Our hope is that this New Year marks a pivot for our state and our nation with refocused energy on whole child wellbeing. We are thrilled to welcome David Doyle and Morghan Hyatt to the CDF-Ohio team. Their commitment to the dignity of childhood and using good data, research, and effective advocacy to this end will propel our movement for children forward.”
