Jaiyéolá (Jaiyé) Kasai leads the teacher training programs for CDF Freedom Schools® and supports the Ella Baker Child Policy Training Institute for partners. A fifth-generation Washingtonian and graduate of Howard University, she began her career in education in her beloved hometown of Washington, D.C. and has served the D.C. area as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, and nonprofit leader for more than a decade. Kasai has earned a master’s degree (M.Ed.) in Curriculum and Instruction, an executive certificate in Social Innovation Design, and has completed postgraduate training in Anthropology and Women’s and Gender Studies. She provides administrative and logistics support for the training team, the teacher training faculty, and the participants.
